gene editing is only useful for qualitative genotypes and dominant allele genetic diseases (the thing that must be eradicated from the human genome) are very rare. besides biological systems are extremely complicated and interconnected, you modify or select/eliminate one feature and you could end up with millions of problems. you select for height you could end up with more pituitary gland problems, you breed successful people you could end up with more psychopaths and less empathy. it's difficult to predict and for this experimentation you are risking what is objectively the most valuable thing which is the human genome.
