That's why they're hiring experts in AI Ethics. Not because they want to make the system safe or ethical but because they need a Kafka layer to make it appear they're doing something to prevent negative outcomes. When bad things happen, they point to their racially and ethnically diverse Board of Ethics for AI/ML and say they tried really hard to keep this type of thing from happening but it's just the nature of progress. You're not racist enough to disagree with an expert in AI Ethics, are you? You're not going to stand in the way of progress, are you?
