No they aren't. At all. They're all devout Liberals. If you look at these people, they all happily state that round-earth theories are invented to stifle global freemarket capitalism. A conservative would conserve the traditional Western position held for the past 2.5k years (round earth).

That's when they'll postulate that light bends in such a way the moon maintains an illusion of constant size. That's is what most flatties will argue for anyways; that the earth is flat but the universe is in on the globe earth conspiracy. The best response is to just ignore them and use our energy on more productive things.

Asking that question implies that the flat earther is open minded enough to be "debunked". Most of them don't want to debate their ideas, only mindlessly parade their failed model around as if it makes them superior. What you should do is ignore them, but if you must attempt to debunk them then post something like pic related and move on with your life. Your life is too short to worry about stupid people.

>It would explain 99% of the bizarre oceanic disappearances, solve issues regarding the gravity of earth, and numerous other issues.
How?

>It was talked about by philosophers around the globe for centuries, and coincidentally, a round earth was only adopted once totalitarian governments came into power.
False. The concept of a globe Earth has been accepted for a very long time, dating back to Ancient Greece.

>It is also funny how people want to have free speech yet will always prevent you from having this thought or speaking about this. You can't even debate it.
It's fine to question things and debate over the merits of what has been commonly accepted. The issue is that the typical flat Earther is very confrontational and will not accept any argument against the notion that the Earth is flat. This has been going on for decades which has made general public patience for the flat Earth notion to be very thin.

He's forgetting about refraction. Light over a cold body of water tends to bend in such a way as to extend the horizon. This happened with the Eddystone lighthouse.

>Have/make a friend who likes to travel
>Have friend travel to a place very far East or West
>Wait until it's noon for you
>Video call friend
>Have friend show you where the Sun is for him (if it is even day for him)
>Note that the Sun is in a very different position in the sky
This shows that the Earth is at the very least curved East-West which is incompatible with the flat Earth notion. On a flat Earth, it would be impossible for the Sun to be directly above one observer on the Earth and be on (or even below) the horizon for another observer also on the Earth. It is just geometrically impossible.

>but what if the light is bending in some way to make the Sun look like it is in a different position on the sky
That is incompatible with other observations of how light behaves. Light bending to make the Sun look like it is setting for you while it is above for someone else would require a mechanism that is dependent on the distance from the Sun and have it behave very consistently across varying atmospheric conditions. No such mechanism has been described ever that is consistent with observations of reality.

>How could we convince flat-earthers they're wrong?
Unless they're flatties due to ignorance, you can't. Most have a personal connection with the flat earth movement and thus any attempt to debunk the flat earth "theory" will be perceived as a personal attack by them.

>We can't just ignore science deniers, it infects our youth and is destructive to our progress.
Flatties are a minority. They just happen to be very noticeable on the internet. Ignoring them is the best course of action. They spread from making their facts seem true through force of authority, more attention means more authority to them.

Most of the big flat earth YouTubers are scam artists using "the truth" to farm money from other flat earthers, they wouldn't accept a ride to space because then it would be very difficult for them to maintain their image afterwards. "Real" flat earthers would either turn down the ride claiming that it would be faked anyways, or do ride but insist that the whole thing is faked and keep claiming so until they open an airlock without a space suit.

>So is the earth fuckin flat???
No.

>How can all these societies and religions be wrong?
They had incomplete knowledge of the world when they made those depictions. Much in the same way some old cultures believed that fevers were caused by having too much blood. Just because something is ancient, doesn't mean that it's correct.

Here's a history of such expeditions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Pole#Exploration

Here's a website (one of many) that can take you (or any flat Earther) there for a price. https://icetrek.com/trips/south-pole-last-degree

>not one guy over 100 years ago whom flatearthers could easily just call a liar. More expeditions would be expected by now anyhow
Flat Earthers will call anything that goes against their views a lie. There could be a live stream of the journey to the south pole, recorded in malicious detail, with as much information crammed into each minute so that it could be verified that it's real, and flat Earthers would still call it fake.

If flat Earthers can be "defeated" using evidence, then there wouldn't be any.

Here, have this.

Back on topic of space flight, how would amateur space flight be affected if systems like Starship drastically reduce the cost of access to space? Will we see more groups trying to put landers on various bodies? Will there be a surge in amateur rocketry? Will there be new regulations on what a private individual can do in space?
