Genuine interest means nothing if you don't have the physical hardware in your thinking organ (read: IQ) to be competitive in that field. This is the sad reality of having above average but nonexceptional IQ; you're just smart enough to see that lofty abstractions are beautiful and alluring, but not smart enough that you could ever support yourself studying such abstractions. 115-135 IQ individuals are cursed to a life of fiddling with the trivial derivatives of products from greener pastures just over the horizon, that nobody around them can even see, much less long for.

Good move. Daily reminder not to interact with double digit IQ posters.

What’s the best degree to get into the space exploration industry? I’d like to do aerospace/astronautics and build rockets but I also want to do research regarding space like so I don’t know. Maybe a PhD in astronomy or physics?

Would it be like this?

Riemann Hypothesis: Complex Analysis and Number Theory

P=NP: Algebraic Complexity

Navier-Stokes Equation: Fluid Mechanics

Yang-Mills and Mass Gap: Quantum Mechanics

Hodge Conjecture: Algebraic Topology

Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture: Elliptic Curves

I'm gonna prove them all.
