You can see their eyes glaze over as they put their mind somewhere else. No matter what you do, they cannot be spurred into motion. They will continue to mindlessly serve their abusers like good little golem cattle. There are so many defective underlying beliefs and heuristics, there's really very little reason to go into it.

Plato's cave. Nietzsche's "descent into the molten pit of human reality". Master and slave morality. Etc. Waking the masses may be what is most aesthetically and philosophically pleasing, but there's good odds it isn't possible and doesn't actually make sense. Might just have to take them by the reins somehow. It's myth and emotion which drives people. I would never forge nor propagate myth and falsehood, but this is something to bear in mind.
