So called "emotional intelligence" is not about empathy or maturity. In fact NPCs are incapable of empathy. EQ is solely about the most shallow forms of obedience and mindless social conformity. They expect you to ignore the inherent complexity of social situations, never to consider the motives of others, and instead only to follow a very simple programming. Prions are indestructible. You'd need temperatures above 200C or highly concentrated acids to dissolve them. Areas where prions have spread would be inhabitable and unusable for centuries.
