I don't know what first year high school math means so I am just gonna assume you know basic algebra.
Start with a pre calculus textbook like Sheldon Axler Pre-Calculus. Read it and solve the examples without looking at the solutions. After you are done with a chapter, do the odd numbered exercises. The reason I am saying odd numbered exercises is because they have solutions so you can check them, and also because doing all the problems is kind of unnecessary and way too time consuming.
And after you are done with that, move on to calculus, which can be hard or extremely easy depending on which textbook you choose. Textbooks like Apostol or Spivak give you a real taste of mathematics but they are pretty tough and I don't think you will be ready for it just after finishing a easy pre calculus book. Something more realistic would be Thomas Calculus which is really easy, has alright explanations. Kind of long but it's just how it is. You don't have to finish the whole book, you can leave the multi variable topics for later. After calculus most people move onto Linear Algebra, and again, depending on what textbook you choose this can be a really easy topic or a really challenging one. Just go with the easy way and read a book like Linear Algebra and its applications by David Lay.
Just finish these first and decide if you really like math so far. You don't have to worry about other topics untill you finish these topics which are essential. You probably won't have a easy time at first. But usually after reading a topic for the second time, everything makes sense and you feel dumb for not understanding it the first time.

Anyways, good luck anon.

Imagine that we are in the future and a human level AI can watch people through cameras and catch people planning to commit crimes and send a signal to authorities. I call this system coba. The system also watches people to make sure they aren't trying to modify the coba system or remove the cameras and sends a signal if they are.

Would you accept a coba algorithm watching you? Do you think this would be good for society?

You are welcome anon.
Now go and study math.

20 percent of 0.04 is 0.04 × 20/100 which is 0.008. So your total would be 0.048
And so 0.048% chance of happening or in other words, 48 times out of 100 000.

Anon you really need to study. No matter what, that kind of arithmetic shouldn't even require paper and pencil.

Speaking of no pencil and paper I did the calculation in my head and I am kind of retarded as well. It would be great if some non-brainlet checked if the answer is correct. I don't want to give you a incorrect answer.

Are you talking about trig on high school level, like the one in pre-calculus?
I am not sure how you could fuck it up.
Just study mate, memorize the unit circle's basic angles, re-do the application problems and try to understand why you are doing something in order to get the answer. I am guessing the teacher doesn't allow note sheets so memorize the addition formula as well as other formulas you are going to need. If you need to "prove" 2 things are identical then practice doing those.

And yea, keep calm and focus on the test. Don't distract yourself with things outside the exam so that you don't do those "stupid mistakes".

You got this anon.

Imagine a society where people are able to increase their intelligence using technology to become hyper intelligent beings. They have technology that is capable of creating large numbers of people. They have technology that can hide themselves if they want to. They mostly spend their time working on increasing their intelligence. In a society where people hide themselves large numbers of people can be created by a hidden torturer and tortured. I believe that people would create an exposed society rather than hiding and creating the opportunity for torture. Can you think of a good hypothetical reason for the average people to hide themselves that is worth allowing people to be tortured?

Hypothetical situation for you /sci/

You can increase your intelligence by altering your brains structure. Lets call it eva.

You can achieve an increased level of eva by attacking and killing people for their resources but doing so carries high risk of dying. Just to emphasize this the risk is high of dying in conflict.

Alternatively you can cooperate together with people and accept a similar level of eva to everyone else and it has no risk.

What would you do?

I would find it extremely unreasonable to attack and kill people for higher eva level when you can cooperate and achieve a similar level of eva to everyone else.

would you harm someone if it gave you a competitive advantage in life?

how severely would you be willing to harm someone for a competitive advantage?

I've created a word for the concept of harm minimization in our lives, I call it sema. Would you live by the sema philosophy and try to minimize harm in your every interaction?

Or do you prefer to harm people for advantages?
