Skinner and Beck manipulated stimuli, observed the outcomes, and were able to form reliable predictions based on those outcomes which have applications in the treatment of psychiatric conditions to this day. "But they didn't explain everything" is an absurd critique because no one has ever explained everything. Only devotees of L. Ron Hubbard could think that the LARPy fanfiction of Freud and Jung is at all a noteworthy or interesting contribution to any relevant scientific field; it's literally the same shit.

The only thing Freud ever got right was the foundational premise of psychology - that our brains like any other organ are subject to influence by biological, environmental, and genetic factors. It wasn't until Skinner that someone actually took that premise, proved it, and then made hay out of it.
