No, a huge number of very difficult tasks are being advanced, but they are much harder than most people at first though.
Some example:
1. IPV4 transition to IPV6
2. Fusion
3. GPS accuracy to the centimeter
4. Robotic humanoids

Progress is not slowing, but much HARDER PROBLEMS are being solved and they are taking a long time to solve
