technological society will continue to organize itself into a mechanized intelligence at an geometric rate. as long human desires and fetishism (consumption) continue to drive the economy you will be given different types of trinkets and crumbs, while a monstrous machine continues to construct itself around you.

eventually there will be nothing human left, and you will either be part of that machine or dead

advertising agencies are already using learning systems to build a direct connection between their messaging and your limbic system, forming a feedback loop between their stimuli and your responses. Cameras on your devices, or even mounted onto billboards and signs in public can judge the precociousness reactions that you make milliseconds after seeing a targeted ad.

The gap between your mind and the outside world isn't a hard barrier but more like a vague fuzzy frontier, a frontier that will slowly recede as technology gets better at penetrating that barrier, or is simply directly implanted into your brain tissue. We are falling faster and faster, screaming into hell and there is absolutely no escape.
