Ok /sci/bros, why the fuck doesn't this work? Is it because the mass is only relativistic in the rotational frame? But mass is scalar so how can this not work? Can someone explain why the engine is a meme?

It is the first engine using relativity where we have a general idea of what we are going to build and an idea of the maths to operate it. It's not a magic sfi-fi warp drive thingy, it's using already proven concepts all merged together. You can even explain it to a 5 year old child :

>spin a mass attached to a string
>the forces pull the center in every directions
>so all forces are cancelling themselves
>now replace the mass by particles in a circular particle accelerator
>the higher the speed the less mass they have
>thus if being accelerated faster in a specific part of the particle accelerator
>forces will be weaker on that part while being stronger on the opposite part
