Hey midwits! You can stop studying mathematics right now. There will be nothing left for you. I'm gonna be the next Oiler, Gauss and Perelman, only better. Without putting any effort into it I managed to get straight A's in calc 1 to 3. I also started reading an analysis book and I looked up the definition of topology. Within the next few months I'm gonna learn and solve all of mathematics. I'm a genius and nothing can stop me. No millennium problems will be left for you. The only reason to study mathematics in the future will be to understand my elegant proofs.

Two things no one cares about. Memorization is not visualization, they're different. I don't remember all the text on a penny, because I never fucking cared. But I can visualize a REAL apple, rotate it in my head, and it has precise realistic detail.

The absence of sound is odd and distracting to me. Rather than allowing my brain to fill the silence with my own thoughts, I'd rather give myself some background music while I focus my thinking on a more important task. There's a reason people can walk down the street and chew gum at the same time. It's not meant to "divert attention away from hw," rather "preserve attention for hw." It depends what you personally interpret as a distraction.
