most tribal people literally have no idea what a triangle or an odd number are but compared to other animals they can do far more advanced tasks like language, tools, tricking other animals, understand basic physics, etc. researchers are willing to change questions to fit the gorilla but not to fit the tribal person because 1. it beats the entire purpose behind a standardized test and 2. it's near impossible to translate concepts that don't exist in a language.
