I've got something I need to get off my chest. Last summer, I interned at a space company. It was a dream come true and the best time of my life. This time around though, I wasn't picked to go back and none of the other companies I tried had any interest. The reason is almost certainty that my GPA had a big drop. It wasn't spectacular before, so it's really awful now.

In a few days, I'm going to travel to the non-space related internship I managed to find. I'm very thankful to have it and I'm really looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm really depressed about things. I'm so worried that my chance to work with roggets is gone and I'm now doomed to spend a career engineering cheese slicing harps, dumpsters, and HVAC systems.

I not sure where to ask this other then directly calling up a university that were doing these studies.

So I was looking up Teenage drinking leading to permanent brain damage articles but they don't say how much drinking specifically the patients were doing, not even a example it's always

"repeated heavy drinking" or "Binge drinking" how much is that?, 4 + standard drinks every weekend?, 4+ standard drinks every third day?.

Anyone know where I could find a answer?

Hey anons. I study a dual degree in Maths/Phys at a top-tier Uni in Australia.
I major in Applied Maths and Astro Phys (although, given a lot of my electives overlap with Maths, the difference between Astro and other majors is a difference of two subjects, so I don't think I'm pigeonholed).
Anyway, I'd always liked/achieved highly in Maths and Science in school, but started Law when I first left because of perceived parental expectations, prioritising potential future earnings over general wellbeing/happiness, and other immature bullshit.
Hated Law, disliked the culture of the degree (each to their own though), and thankfully wised up that I'd have to work in the field for the rest of my days, and bailed to pursue something I was more passionate about before accruing more debt.

Which was Maths. I enjoy maths and physics! I find it interesting af, and find applying theory by solving endless problems a far more satisfying and measurable method of studying than rote learning bullshit. So it's a vast improvement! But I've just finished first year physics, and am half way through second year of maths, and it's struck me that beyond being interested in and enjoying what I'm studying, I struggle to answer the question of what I want to do once I graduate.
Can I go to Mars with a Maths/Physics degree? Is there a massive bottle-neck getting into research? Is research a rewarding career path? What are some interesting/fun ways to apply these degrees to make money?
My grades are good, but I have to work hard at it. There are definitely people in my degree who have a higher natural aptitude than me.
I've kind of just been floating along with the vague presumption that the demand for Maths/Phys/IT/related fields graduates is exponentially exploding, with a reasonably steady supply of graduates, and because I enjoy it everything will work out! Suffering some mid-degree doubts I guess, and am seeking affirmation from anonymous strangers. Pls provide!

Switched from physics/maths to full mathematics.
Proffesors constantly shit on physics.
"Let's do it the physicist way, it's disgusting and not rigorous, but it works in this case, later we'll came back to do it the right way (mathematically)".
And plenty other jabs like that.
It hurts.
