So, I need some advice from you /sci/entists.

Throughout high school, I took the ADHD medication Vyvanse. Prior to starting, I was a mediocre student, but with it I was straight A student, Salutatorian, and had the highest SAT score in my school.

Then I went to college, and in my freshman year, stopped taking it for various reasons. I blew it. Lost my scholarships, and dropped out.

I've spent the last 2 years working, and saving money to go back to school, and today was my first day back. I haven't taken the medication since high school, and don't want to start up again. It caused some health problems, among other things.

Now, for my question. Over the last 2 years, I've done my best to cultivate good habits, and structure my life without the crutch of a drug. However, I never developed good study habits in school. I didn't need to, since it was easy as pissing to get A's in high school. Do you guys have any tips or advice for reforming a lifetime of bad study habits and a lazy lifestyle? I'm in a STEM major, so I'd prefer get the help I need NOW on the first day, rather than wait until I've dug another hole down the line.

Hello /sci/.
I'm beginner at c++ and I have a task to create a program that calculates the difference between biggest digit and smallest digit in the number.

I created this, but it doesnt seem to work. Where are my mistakes ? How to correct them?

int main()
{
int number, max, min, difference;
cout << "enter the number ";
cin >> number;

max = number % 10;
number /= 10;
while(number > 0)
{
if(number % 10 > max)
{
max = number % 10;
}
number /= 10;
}
number = min;
for (int i = 2; i <= 5; i++)
{

if (number < min)
min = number;
}
difference = max - min;
cout << "difference" << difference <<endl;

return 0;
}

Can you guys please help me out? If it was an integral I would go to wolfram but it's a word problem and I don't know anywhere else to turn.

1. Find the volume of the solid generated by revolving the region in the first quadrant bounded above by y=x^2, below by the x-axis, ad on the right by the line x=3 about he y-axis.

>I keep getting (81/2)pi but the key says (5/2)pi

2. Find the volume of the solid generated by revolving the region bounded by y=(-x^2/25) and the line y=-1 about the line y=1.

>The key says (64/3)pi but I keep getting (16/3)pi

Alright /sci/ wtf. I'm about to finish Cal I. In fact, we just went over the last section we are going to cover today. I also have a 95 in the class.

So why in the fuck is it that when I go to a wikipedia article on anything math based and I look at the theorem, I can't understand it? Why can I still not do the goddamn Putnam problem of the day? How much fucking math do I have to take until I am on par with you guys?

Note: Today's putnam problem is kind of easy. I can explain the answer, but I can't prove it mathematically. Do I have to use one of those sigma sums? Because I went to a shitty high school and we barely covered that shit.

Studying for the SATs, get this easy question.
>Which of the following is greater than 1/3?
A. .33
B (1/3)^2
C 1/4
D 1/.03
E 3/4
What the fuck? 2 answers? D is obviously way over but E is technically and obviously greater than 1/3. Book says D but is this just some fuckup?

I think I'm getting stretched a bit thin /sci/...
I've only got 2 classes this semester, but one of them is really fucking difficult.
Plus I just started an internship (paid) that is about 25 hours per week, doing about 10-20 hours per week of research on one project (paid as well), and I'm about to start another project with another mentor that will require about 10-15 hours per week.
Plus my non-hard class requires a lot of time because it has so much fucking busy work... Having trouble budgeting my time.

Anyone have a crammed schedule? How do you manage? Tips on how to manage time? Looking at my schedule right now, I'd say I hardly have any time to relax, and that chill time is eating into the time I need to study...

Pic kinda related... a bit stressed. Almost want to go for a cig...

I love Hitchens. I recently rediscovered him and spent the entire evening watching his videos on youtube, then right before going to bed I learned about his death. These great men die quicker than new one comes. I love his position on feminism.

RIP smartass

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT GET THIS FUCKING PRINCIPLE?

Evolution is the most accurate model of the aspects of reality it describes.
Increasing understanding of reality increases ones ability to effectively operate within that reality. IT IS THAT. FUCKING. SIMPLE.

TRUTH=GOOD
UNTRUTH=BAD

DO YOU FUCKING GET IT YOU STUPID PIECE OF MOUTH-BREATHING FECES?!

7/10, and I hope the religiousfags are right about the existence of hell just so you can go to it.
