For me it's because predictability, from a bunch of general principles you are capable of predicting the outcome of your system, say a spinning top, a spaceship docking into another, etc.. I dislike chemistry because it is too experimental. No comment on biology. But that is just my opinion and I consider all these fieldsto be extremely important.-
