I would be careful about reading Advaita Vedanta interpretations such as Shankara's as a commentary to the Upanishads, they are extremely reliant on Buddhist philosophy (Shankara is called a "cryptobuddhist" by most Hindus, and most scholars agree). If you want to read the Upanishads, work through them with editions and commentaries that aren't sectarian, or at least read an interpretation that is closer to the original meaning of the Upanishads, rather than Shankara's 9th century AD quasi-buddhism.

Thanks
Are the critics of Shankara's nondualism accurate or is it just bickering?

Advaita is the culmination of Hinduism and its only important theology. The rest are just imperfect versions of Advaita.

The rest of your post is nonsense, ignoring.

Patrick Olivelle is the best place to start. I would be careful about reading Shankara as a commentary to the Upanishads, he is extremely reliant on Buddhist philosophy (he's called a "cryptobuddhist" by most Hindus, and most scholars agree). If you want to read the Upanishads, work through them with editions and commentaries that aren't sectarian, or at least read an interpretation that is closer to the original meaning of the Upanishads, rather than Shankara's 8th century AD quasi-buddhism.

shankara is known by scholars and by hindus as a "cryptobuddhist" who stole almost all his ideas from medieval buddhists and passed them off as the philosophy of the upanishads

everybody since his own day has called him cryptobuddhist for it, even most of his own followers admit it

and every scholar for the past 200 years agrees that shankara took all of his ideas from medieval indian buddhism and reconciled them with the upanishads and brahmasutras as an afterthought

all major indian advaitins agree too. as always it's not just you (advaita) vs. everyone else, it's you vs. everyone including advaitins. why is this the case? because you get your idea of advaita from wikipedia and guenon's simplifications, you don't want to actually commit or learn anything, you just want sufism with hindu aesthetics

also why you get assblasted by every real advaitin who posts here.
