don't be self-conscious, haiku are difficult if you take the form seriously. Here's a little tip since you seem interested. Haiku cannot include the self (that's for senryu)

this implies self, consider replacing it with another image to contrast the first one with (haiku are necessarily a set of two images)
the fact you care more about concision than the 5-7-5 'rule' bullshit shows you're on your way!
