There are a lot of reasons for disliking him, the main one being his snake oil selling business (but I don't think it is as important now as it was before).

Spending your entire lifetime hosting MMA fights and talking with dumbells on a podcast is a worthwhile existence?
I don't think that he will regret it in these years, he has enough distraction and actual entertainment going on to not notice that. I also don't think that Rogan's is the worst existence available (he's not a child mining lithium in Congo).
That said my opinion stands: one day in his 80s/90s he will get high on either schrooms or pot brownies, and he will be able to see his entire life as an unitary experience.
He will realize that great men actually existed and, even with the money, fame and free time he's got, this is the bets he managed to do in his life: a podcast and yellong things at MMA fighters. That's it, that's the mark he left on the world, even if he had the opportunity (in fact, in this system, he was one of the very few people who had that opportunity) to change things for the better.

What's wrong in this speculation? A guy who has wasted his life in a factory can at least see that, maybe, he didn't have any chance of doing better. That does not apply to Rogan. He is charismatic, extremely famous, rich and well connected. He has complete freedom on his life, and that's what he is doing (wich is barely better than wasting your life stoned on a couch, watching shitty tv).

Just because I happen to agree with everything you said doesn't mean that there aren't counterpoints that take the discussion beyond the realm of a evaluation a pothead imbecile given too much airtime and credibility.
One could argue that Rogan has no real moral obligation to change things for the better or have any impact that goes beyond self-serving individualism. Again, not something that I agree with, but something that is a valid point and moves the discourse to a metaphysical concepts. Can you really be bothered exploring these concepts when on the premise of a dudebro's inane ramblings?

yeah except that's not how he spends his existence. i don't really want to put a bunch of effort into coming to his rescue but tl;dr the dude is always working on projects (creative and entrepreneurial) and learning new things (skills and ideas). he may be dumb, but he is living about as well as one can possibly live.

You sure sound like the authority on both drugs and life worth. Lemme try:

One day you will get high on your autism medication and pass sweeping decrees on what other people will do in their withering age, declaring that whatever they did will be for naught in the grand scheme of """greater men""" and marks on a world that only pays tribute to them in not burning their books for shelf space.

Everyone dies with unfulfilled potential, that doesn't mean there was anything they could have done to "change things for the better" in whatever narrow criteria you've decided.

I'm not, but he is.

>Everyone dies with unfulfilled potential, that doesn't mean there was anything they could have done to "change things for the better" in whatever narrow criteria you've decided.
That would be a good argument if Rogan was involved in ANYTHING of value. Instead his entire life is based on cheap entertainment.
That's a pretty big jump from being a ''unfulfilled potential''.

>>9213554
>(creative and entrepreneurial)
Name one project of actual value (inb4 his standup, wich is good, but not good enough to justify one's existence).
>(skills and ideas)
It's usual pleb shit such as martial arts and bow hunting, wich may be fun and fulfilling, but still should be coupled with more cerebral activities (but Rogan substitute those with soft drugs).

>>9213546
>no real moral obligation
I haven't talked about morality, just about ambition. For example I would not give shit to Rogan, had he produced some standup special that could be defined as true art, but he can't ever get over the DUDEWEED schtick.

>. Can you really be bothered exploring these concepts when on the premise of a dudebro's inane ramblings?
My first post was exactly about this. THe fact that he is not self-aware, and given his psychedelic regimen he will become so one day, when all these things will be a thing of the past and he will be able to put his entire life in a single continuum. Once he will see, under the effect of weed or LSD, how did he actually spend his life there will be no way he won't be severly disappointed.
As I've said earlier I'm not delusional enough to think that he will become self-aware in the near future, since he already has too many distractions to deal with. But at some point he will stop to catch a breath, and that's where the immense regret will start.
I may be projecting a bit too much, but still, I think it's a realistic enough speculation.

It's not a bad thing to be obsessed with, a better question is why these fucking faggots are so obsessed with bashing an entertaining person who does no wrong.

If this faggots really were obsessed with contributing to society, they wouldn't be here. This is a glorified circle jerk for people who dislike a man for some inane reason and want to vent about it because they're own lives are so pathetic and unfulfilling they must not have much else better to do.

Rogan is probably barely worth the mental effort, I wouldn't know, I've never considered him and have only listened to his podcast to hear the guests he has on, who are excellent. Not him, but that's a loaded answer. It is easier to identify lives that are not well spent, and make countless specific examples of lives well spent. There's no general rule, you usually have to make that yourself. Historical influence, accomplishments in art and science, and lives devoted to philantropy with success can be considered well spent.
Spending your entire life doing stupid shit, smoking weed while also being completely uncharitable seems a wasted life. There is no reedeming factor, at best you can say that it was an entertaining life, but that's a bit too nihilistic to me. If you have any value whatsoever (inb4 spooks) that life is completely wasted.

I had a conversation today about what separates the the Kim Jong Uns from the Bill Gateses of the world. And it really seems to me to be some inborn trait, whereby you tire of living just for yourself after some time, and don't feel good with yourself if you don't spend at least some of your time giving back in some way. Some people never reach that stage, and are essentially permanent children. I can think of a certain sitting president who would fit this bill.
