Here's a shitty idea I came up with for a middlebrow-novel

>Fairly successful painter gets a chance to participate in a big exposition
>Paints renaissance motif in modern style
>extroverted multi-billionaire gets interested in the piece and the painter
>he begins to openly stalk the man
>painter flees the country, hides in Europe
>due to his autistic interest in art history he always hides in obvious places, e.g. Florence, Paris, etc.
>rich guy tracks him down multiple times
>painter finally murders him to get peace
>paints renaissance motif again with blood
>vanishes just before being found out

Story is filled with homoerotical innuendos and art history cross references.

In my book tanks are cute girls instead of giant machines. The first tank of the Chinese People's Liberation Army gets renovated for a parade in Beijing and when her new commander molests her she flees south. The stories of other tanks and her own backstory in the Chinese Civil War and the Mao-Deng eras are filled in as the government pursues her. She ends the novel back in Beijing because a tank will always be a tank.

Elijah White and his son Dylan White are among the few surviving male aryans in what was once the United States of America. They live together in the attic room of one of Chicago's many destroyed formerly white middle-class neighborhoods. They scavenge for what food they can (fortunately most shops are easily accessible due to previous looting by what are at this point the ruling Nigletes and their minority allies). They also correspond with a loose network of fellow aryans, some whose women have been protected against the Nigeletes and the ceaseless propaganda campaigns of the [redacted] who successfully encouraged most of the female population to abandon their own race when looking for a romantic and sexual partner. One day Elijah is visiting a house a few blocs away occupied by Jeremiah Lassman, an elderly white male who sells ammunition in exchange for books and other miscellaneous items written on a list he has handed to Elijah. During the visit however Dylan, Elijah's son, signals his father to inform him that the Blue Kangz, a brutal enforcement unit who hunt down remaining white males, is heading for Jeremiah's home. Elijah is told to save himself by the old man, who hands him as much ammunition as he can before Elijah leaves and hides nearby with his son. When the Blue Kangz surround the home, Jeremiah emerges onto the porch and proceeds to blow up his home and the ammunition remaining therein. The rest of the story involves Elijah and Dylan's struggle to survive and unite the scattered survivors of their ethnic demographic.

Okay. So I read the synopsis as I can't watch the episode atm. I see the similarities though the ships with these programs aren't taking them to any specific planet. It's just meant to be an opportunity for humans to "shadow" these aliens like how a civilian can do a ride along with a cop. Also, my aliens don't present humans with any technology as to not overwhelm them. Their initial visits are more like "hey, just wanted to let you guys know that we exist and there is a greater galactic community at large. This story really isn't meant to demonstrate advanced technologies or anything like that but instead be about one man coping with his past while experiencing a big exotic universe as a backdrop. Along the way he learns that humans aren't the only beings that possess "humanity" while also demonstrating the universal frailty of life no matter how advanced. Now that I talk about it I feel like it's kinda a stupid concept but I'll still keep it in my back pocket.

Bacon sandwiches are of course a percectly mundane and nigh universal foodstuff in Britain.

We have been eating bacon (real bacon) longer than America has been a nation.

But a person who consumes nothing but bacon sandwiches is still considered abnormal because they are the near singular constituent of his diet.

The very things that in part make us perfectly unremarkable ordinary people; like enjoying a bacon sandwich, when turned up to eleven become marks of strangeness that others may recognise and shun you for.

And so life is a delicate balancing act in that regard.

8738920

A story of a failing but "gifted and talented" author (according to himself) as he copes with the fact he will never reach the level of recognition he desires with an overall focus on the questions of integrity as he has the opportunity to join a successful, hot, popular, rad-left, blogging website but knowing he will have to give up all semblance of originality and write cookie cutter articles with faux depth meant to sway the upper middle class white college students who feel they are doing the world a favor with their political correctness but lack any form of self awareness.

While this may seem like "/pol/:the book:the musical" the main character leans in the political center leaning slightly left or right depending on the issues as he is half hispanic-half white with an absent father raised by an agnostic mother who tried to instill in him catholicism at an early age through her words but her actions did not match that.

TL Note: This is not autobiographical in any way whatsoever because that would imply I'm a good writer and that I have opportunities in life :(

Side-by-side the """past""" versions of the characters begin to receive their Necronomicon pages and work to stop the great mess-up unaware of the true nature of their mission.

I'm going for the Starz Spartacus approach to history. Keeping the known, firm dates, battles and places, and embellishing everything else gratuitously.

>he orders one and begins assembling it in secret
>when it's finished he kicks his wife out of the house

>he is still slightly creeped out at the idea of living with a robot, especially since it seems to stare at him as if analyzing him
>one day he notices in the mirror that he has strange markings on the back of his neck
>meanwhile, the robot asks seemingly innocuous questions that make him think about the reasons he wanted to abandon his wife
>realizes that maybe he didn't abandon her because she displeased him, maybe deep down he felt sorry for her, so he wanted a wife without emotions that he could be abusive toward--but he quickly erases any idea of apologizing to his wife or trying to be a better person
>one day moves to strike at the robot wife during these questions and finds that he hesitates at first
>the next day he gets in an argument with the robot but finds he can't bring himself to harm it
>robot wife pulls out a taser-like apparatus and begins to shock him
>he can't fight back
>wife returns and she reveals that she knew about the robot all along and secretly programmed it and modified its hardware so she could remotely control it, had it implant mind control technology in his brain (the markings on his neck are stitches where it surgically placed the implants in his brain) over time
>now the tables have turned and he is essentially her slave, and it is physically impossible for him to ever fight back because of the mind control implants

Also, she aborted her brother/son when the father got her pregnant. Father is in prison. He is never confronted. Also, for reasons, the guy isn't cool with slapping/hitting women, but also doesn't want her to get all fucked in the head for being reminded of her father, so must take on the role of being rough with her. I think it's a pretty well done story, and reminds me of Year of the Hare in how it sort of involves various places and events with characters that show up every now and then. There's also a part where the protagonist is more or less forced to fuck a middle-aged twink, even though he doesn't want to cheat on the girl he was in a developing relationship with. If it was a personal fantasy of mine, it would have gone differently, though I'd be lying if I said I don't find the concept overall fairly hot, except for the whole 'abortion of her son/brother' bit. That's pretty fucked up, but is one of the reasons why she's so messed up. Also, by the end of the novella, it's still rather unsure if things will work out for them. Oh, shit, I didn't even address the fact that she's only starting College while he's almost finished it. Damn, I wonder what would happen then. Perhaps I'll make a sequel someday.

I love the way they initially communicate though. As mentioned before, he accidentally frightens her (not a difficult thing to accomplish, granted), and she's barely able to speak verbally with people. She can, but it's hardily a conversation, just mutter brief little answers, almost as though someone trying to talk to her is like she's being interrogated by some less-than-reputable cops. So, since they meet at a pub, he writes something down on one of those cardboard coasters. She ends up replying in that manner, and so wordlessly, even without really looking at one another, they have this discrete little conversation. That method shows up once or twice throughout the book, but by the end, they're talking more-or-less normally.

Anyways, your opinion is your own, and that's fine, but I think it's a conflicting, yet touching story. Being from /k/ and having a love for firearms, it was kind of inevitable to end up having at least ONE part of the book involving firearms. It doesn't turn out all that well. I mean, I like how it turns out, as the writer, but the effect it had was rather interesting. Sort of aided in showing how the PSAS (which he playfully calls her 'pizazz' rather than her 'P.S.A.S' or 'piss-ass'). Hah, oh yeah, I forgot, I even added a golden shower scene, but it's in a shower so you know, it's basically on her and then runs right off. I'm not into piss AT ALL, but thought I'd experiment. Neither of them end up particularly liking it, but it certainly accentuates how she's pretty much incapable of being in a normal relationship, because she needs stuff like this to happen, even if she doesn't like it. It's the only way that she can accept him, even though he doesn't want to do it, and neither does he.

I can see why you'd find it quite stranger, or 'retarded', but I truly think it's a well done little novella, and has a lot of things going on.

You're giving an utterly insane amount of credit to a non existent thing. The girls entire back story is just a convoluted and contrived mess to justify brutally raping her over and over. Not to mention the base concept is utterly retarded. He rapes her gently so she hates gentle sex but loves getting choked and called a slut? It literally is a retarded idea.

Haha, well to each their own. Year of the Hare's backstory for the protagonist was simply that he was in a shitty marriage and had shitty friends. Then while driving with a buddy, they hit a hare, injuring it and breaking its leg. Buddy drives off, and the protagonist more or less goes on an adventure with said hare, going to various different places, meeting various different people, and all-in-all it's just jumping from one situation/scenario to another. A book, a novella in particular, doens't have to have a huge amount of backstory. She's fucked up, he scares her, sympathizes with her, she says a 'friend' tells her to go meet people so she decides to try a pub, and later admits that this 'friend' is her psychologist. Also turns out that she's suicidal and had an attempt within the time they've known each other. Across for attention and long-way for results? She went the long way, but luckily had not gone deeply enough. This all the more makes him want to try and help her to enjoy life.

You can consider it retarded, that's fine, but I'm proud of it. It's certainly far from conventional, but I believe it's far from bad too. Lucky for me, people have different outlooks. 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' and all that. 'One man's trash is another man's treasure'. Well this is trash to you, but I treasure it, and I believe there are others out there who would also enjoy it. So what's your book idea, anon?

Where you keep saying Year of the Hare you probably should be saying Nouveau Roman, although looking at that pos above you likely just mean vignettes.

Having looked up the definition for both Nouveau Roman and vignettes, it would seem that Nouveau Roman is indeed what I ended up going with. While I was writing, that book Year of the Hare had come to mind eventually, which would seem to be a Nouveau Roman novel (written in the 70s by a Finnish fellow who's name I will probably never successfully memorise). Like Year of the Hare by Arto whatsisname, there are various events that take place, however I think I did well in not leaving too many loose ends. Even the issue with the middle-aged twink fellow is more or less resolved before the end.

As for PTSD, I did not use that term in the novella as I recall. She just gets kind of freaked out, so I made a quick-and-dirty attempt to explain it by simply referencing to it as 'sort of PTSD'. She had been routinely fucked by her father, without protection, while he tried to pass it off as 'loving', and ultimately had to abort an incestuous child while her father (and the father of her aborted child) went to prison. I think 'sort of PTSD' is a fair way to more-or-less describe the state of mind she gets in when reminded of what had happened.

I'd like to write a book about where women have been birthing almost only females for DECADES to the point that the large male population is beginning to dwindle. There's barely any males under the age of 70, in fact the government had to get involved to decide where the males can live to space them out as much as possible so that the maximum amount of women have access to them. From there, i dunno. Is their job to impregnate women who wish to have children? Are they allowed to have a normal relationship? I don't really know how the story can go, but I find it to be a very interesting basis, even though it's basically just 'last man on Earth' type of thing. Meh, I'll keep it in the back of my mind and see if I can figure out a way to make it interesting. Perhaps the protagonist gets utterly sick of fucking all the time, even chicks he dislikes, and decides to abandon civilization and go innawoods. Could be interesting.

Maybe there's even a point where there's reference to a boy as young as 12 who is being routinely abused by women who wish to have children, but the Police won't do anything about it because of such-and-such a fucked up law. Though it sounds like a male's paradise, make it into a pretty rotten place to live.
