I think the reason why a journal will never take off is that no one who is serious about their work would submit to a 4chan journal. No one wants to be called a racist/sexist IRL, dude (note that I'm not implying that everyone on 4chan actually IS a racist/sexist, but that is the common perception). So we're left with a bunch of ironic meme literature or trunk stories written by people using pseudonyms.

Believe me, I would love to circumvent the liberal-fascist controlled publishing industry, but I think this is a fool's errand.

There was a guy on here years ago who tried to kick something like this off. I don't think he's still publishing it, though.

He called his journal, Pinecone. After Pynchon, of course. This was around the time people were pretty sure Pynchon was coming to /lit/. Around 2010 I think.

His first (and only, as far as I can tell) two are here:

Who knows what Godhead's doing; the Discord mag is tentatively called Shit Beyond Words.

SBW's going to run alongside godhead, and it'll showcase the best of communal shitposting: reviews of books by people who've never read them, ritual flyting, the rise of the Underground Manchild -- as well as legitimate stuff, like advice for starting with the Greeks.
