Which is better to read- the Treatise or the Enquiry?
Wikipedia says that the Enquiry is
>a shorter and more polemical work... The Enquiry dispensed with much of the material from the Treatise, in favor of clarifying and emphasizing its most important aspects. For example, Hume's views on personal identity do not appear. However, more vital propositions, such as Hume's argument for the role of habit in a theory of knowledge, are retained.
From this it would seem that the Enquiry is just a dumbed-down version of the Treatise, with nothing to recommend itself.
But, looking at the contents, most of the Treatise's second and third books seem of rather secondary interest, whereas the Eniquiry seems a lot more focused.
Also, what are some good critiques of Hume?

Just kidding. I can't help, myself, but am bumping for interest.

Why not both?

In fact better yet, why not read a fucking book and post your thoughts on it?

Instead of creating another inane recommendation thread.
