Wikipedia:
>Formally, the novel is notable because of the lack of paragraphing, a digressive style, the blending of fact and fiction, and the inclusion of a set of mysterious and evocative photographs, scattered throughout the book, that enhances the melancholy message of the text.

Just a friendly warning to those who are considering actually reading it.

It's a good place to start with him? I've been thinking of getting The Emigrants or maybe Rings of Saturn.

Putting photos in books is a cool idea.

The Emigrants is my least favorite. I started with Vertigo, and Rings of Saturn is my favorite.
