being the image rather than attempting to project an image. inauthenticity is caring too much for external validation, whether folks approve/disapprove of what you do, rather than asking yourself why you do what you do and whether it is good/bad for yourself. mindfulness is a huge factor. that is what it means for me, and I am still figuring it out, anyway. works best on days when I am not thinking too hard about it, and then on reflection I feel OK instead of cringing.
