I hate when someone says something stupid, you try to correct them and they accuse you of being contrarian. You shouldn't be allowed to accuse someone of being contrarian while not taking in consideration what they say to you, it's a double edged sword.

Because I value free thought, free speech, and free conversation. Because I believe we're living in a time when these traditional liberal values are under attack by people who believe some ideas should be excluded from freedom. Because there are people who get unreasonably upset and offended when someone has a different opinion than them. Because maybe being continually confronted with the inexorable fact that there will always be people who disagree with them will help these people learn to accept differing opinions. Because I enjoy the schadenfreude of watching these people writhe in the misery they inflict upon themselves by choosing not to allow for the possibility of alternative ideas. Above all else, though, I simply do it for my own amusement.
