Well, there are three books in that volume, of which I've read Sickness unto Death and Diary of a Seducer, and I really enjoyed both when I read them, it was pretty much my introduction to philosophy (not that I read that much ever since).

Fatalism and christianism aside, he's really good for making sense of that special kind of late teens existential angst.

What I got from Camus:
Kierkegaard as well points out that life has no meaning. Mankind strives to know the meaning of life. The result of this is a kind of agony.
Camus criticised Kierkegaard for accepting all the same, but simply "fleeing" into religion.

Or did I miss an important fact, i.e. what do you like about Kierkegaard?

Also, saw IJ on travessa these days, how's the translation? read the first chapter and that chapter where the addict is waiting on the girl who's bringing him marijuana, while it was a great job it seemed to me something was lost on the stream-of-consciouness chapter about anxiety waiting for marijuana.

Well, I honestly think it's wrong to steal from small / specialized libraries and sebos, but fuck me if I feel any sort of pity or admiration for FNAC, specially considering how they're buying less and less books of any worth and more and more feelgood lit or whatever it's called.

You'll probably disagree with me, but the growth of "megastores" drove a lot of smaller libraries I love out of business while ramping up the prices in the ones left. And before you say "if those libraries wanted to stay in business they should've stepped up their game", I'll tell it back: They were miles better than most chainstores, but competition with said chains AND the internet left them with no option, and I'm resentful for that.

About being caught, I'll tell you a little secret: I've been spotted a lot of times and most employees simply don't care (thanks to the WONDERFUL employment policies of these stores)

Why do people buy these penguin classic sets that have such bland uniformity?

I mean, ultimately, asthetics don't -really- matter, but it's nice to have a bookshelf full of diversity in size and color rather than looking so drab and boring.

Here is the look of a diminished collection with absolutely no organization standards applied. I'm going to try to get it back in control in the next few weeks.

this is the three layers of books in my startlingly deep end table

with better organization I'm thinking I'll put my american/english and french lit here
