Nah. Philosophy is pretty useless ftmp

Von Neumann, Turing and Church were mathematicians.

By philosophy I don't mean lambda calculus or the Turing machine, Descartes invented coordinates but that's not considered an achievement of continental philosophy.

Yes, they killed off philosophy.

well, the enlightenment rather lead to the industrial revolution did it not?

It was more in terms of both being part of the same movement and spirit. But it happened around 1700, a bit earlier than analytic phil.

You might as well say that Plato produced a microwave.

>>5953325
Analytic philosophy is full of metaphysics, it's just expressed in a really dry language.

while one can't say Plato created microwaves, one could say that Plato used theories from Pythagoreas and various pre-Socratic philosophers and mathmaticians and directly contributed to the long line of causes and effects which eventually created the microwave?

So you haven't even ever read it..
Why do you guys feel the need to conversate on stuff you only read the wiki entry from.
Analytic philosophy is full of metaphysics. Wittgenstein himself admitted this in Tractatus and said you should use that work as a ladder. And throw away the ladder when you are on your destination. Tractatus is full of inconsistencies regarding methaphysics/straight up mysticis and that was how he solved it with his anti-metaphysics statement in it.

You can't separate the two. Frege and Russell used their systems of symbolic logic to deal with the problems of philosophy, as did Wittgenstein. Philosophy of mathematics is philosophy as much as anything else is. No philosopher of any value declared themself a "Philosopher" by trade.
