I saw the Macbeth one and thought it was pretty neat.

just based on that title, i'm going to say no.

I agree. It's really helping me learn street language.

I agree with his analysis. I always thought Macbeth was Shakespeare's most nihilistic work, and that it also contained his best poetry. I like that he gave us a few quotes, too.

I hate quirky ironic black people appreciation by white internet nerds

You are retarding this race's escape from the Other

>> No.4283678

Don't be so dull. What I'm im white educated and grew up in the hood. This shit makes me laugh because I actually know smart hoodrats who would speak like this, In fact from time to time I use this type of summarizing, It a types of lingo you simply do not understand.

Sure stupid white people are going to misunderstand it and think hehe silly black people, but I generally find this funny because it is the way I grew up around and I find it to be close to home.

Here's an analysis of Brave New World which is sympathetic to Mustapha Mond, rather than John Savage. This is the way I always read it, too. It's not so much a warning as a guide. There is quite a lot wrong with the civilized world, but at least it is not self-destructive in the way that traditional human society has been.

I was in the Signal Corps in the Army, and I knew some cats who'd talk like this, too. They could whip my ass at chess or break down the finer points of different kinds of art, or even explain to me the virtues of hip-hop in a way that I could understand. They can speak my language, but I can't really speak theirs.

I don't like him because of the way he says things. I like him because he's able to say so much in so little time. He doesn't miss anything important, and often adds little asides or tie-ins from other works of literature. He teaches the material in a fun and accessible way, tailored for the ADD generation. It's just good pedagogy.

>> No.4283694

>>4283686
Funny you mention pedagogy. That was my first thought when watching it. I almost consider showing this to one of my professors out of interest. Not for absolute use, but to give more foundation to the idea of pedagogy. I get you though. It's a hard lingo to get if you aren't born into it. I've grown to loose it for the most part, but i understand it for the most part. It becomes part of you, but as they say you can leave the hood, but the hood aint ever gonna leave you.

So my question is
>Do you realize you don't like him for...no reason. The way he says thing sure, but we've already seen thousands of language alterations in time. Look at all the creole we've developed.

I don't disagree with you to some extent because learning proper English makes for universal comprehension, but it is a significant teaching tool.

In the end, I find it to be innovative or at the very least clever.

I don't understand how it's hard to understand him. I grew up in a white neighborhood and at a white school in southern USA and have absolutely no trouble understanding him.

Some people truly don't. It's just a lingo barrier. Imagine someone using an assortment of words you don't understand.

Lets take the term iced. The classic meaning of that turns the conversation he is having upside down. A lot of people lack critical thinking or ability to adapt.

People can't adapt. If you can adapt you can survive and by god humans are the pinnacle of survival.

He was too busy trying to sound euphoric and deep to notice he was typing contradictions.

I meant that people often cannot adapt and the key to human survival is adaptation. Implying that if you want to survive you will adapt.

There is a difference; Thug Notes has entertainment value beyond the novelty of "LOL funny black lingo saying unconventional things" as in he actually gives a decent summary and analysis of books, but does so on an extremely small scale so as to keep videos super short and still basic. I think it's great, not enlightening or crying tears of laughter, but a pleasant way to spend a few minutes on the internet to be sure.

I agree he's far from an idiot, but as >>4287243 says, the method is quite sad. I guess acting like a ghetto nigger is acting like a stereotypical slave nigger today in the sense of black people having parody themselves to entertain. We want some of that ignorant nigga swag to make us laugh or we won't listen.
