I think you're reading too much YA fantasy-fulfilling books. Having autistic traits isn't a sign of intelligence, and neither does intelligence correlate or reveal itself through autistic traits.

I wish this kind of fantasy would die out already, it's insulting to intelligent people and demeaning to autistic people. It's also a similar line of thought that lets people get away with thinking their social awkwardness/mild-aspergers makes them more intelligent and superior to others.

It was that intelligent people aren't as a rule "autistic" seeming, and neither are "autistic" seeming people as a rule intelligent and that "traits of autism" do not necessarily correlate with intelligence. I wasn't saying "all autistic people are dummies", you big butthurt baby.

Not really, autists/aspies can't into human relations, explorations of emotions, arts etc.

They are only good for very narrow and technical fields, engineering, math.
I consider those much harder but they have nothing to do with writing about people, emotions, etc.

I've recently delved into his work. It's taken me about a week and a half to realize nobody on lit has ever read more than ten pages of any of his books or essays.

Discussions about DFW on /lit/ are about as useful as neutral milk hotel on /mu/, ketchup with steak on /ck/, spiderman or boxy on /b/, etc.

He was a talented author, get over it. This might well be the most faggot filled board on 4cahn. No wonder that moot is going to do away with /lit/ in the next six months.
