From the ones I’ve read Horror’s Call is a pretty serious edgelord grimdark series. It’s weird that it’s even memed. But I guess that’s part of how it happened.

Horror's Call is about as serious as G Farmer's parodies of it.
I mean seriously taking a concept to a developmental editor or even a ghost writer could go from RL Stine tier to Clive Barker tier.

Not long at all. Horror’s Call is a mixed bag. They’re all batshit insane but in a good way. some of them are among the best indie books I’ve read in years. The books kind of got better as the series developed imo. CotC’s not even the best one
