I kind of feel that way. I started writing my current novel in 2021 when things felt a certain way. The longer I take to finish it, the less relevant I feel it's becoming because everything is changing so fast. I'm sticking to it, but slowly losing faith.

I think I could probably write a genuine masterpiece or two, I think I have it in me, but I am just not that into writing. It would take too much effort, too much time, and besides, as you said, I have no one to write it for, no culture to receive it, appreciate it and pass it on. Dante could write for his fellow Guelphs, at least. Who do I have to write for?
I'd rather do something else. Probably nonfiction. Seems more concise, easier, a more effective method of delivery.
