Ryan Gosling typically plays a cross between an everyman hero and a byronic hero
He essentially never plays villains
I think this is exactly why he is so popular and relatable to many people
It's a somewhat rare combo and it's actually hard to think of a literary character that is exactly like this
Gatsby or Mr. Darcy are sort of close but still not quite right to me
People saying these typical doomer protags are completely off the mark though
