22758040 No.22758040 [Reply] [Original]

Sin is the result of technological society. If we were living in our natural habitat, for which our bodies evolved, then there would be virtually no sin. No depression, no misery, no confusion. No wonder there are porn addicts and fatties and murderers and rapists. You can see the same sort of degeneracy in the rat utopia experiment. Give the rats a few hundreds of years, and they might have developed religion.

It’s clear that technology won’t be erased. Our environment will continue to change much more rapidly than we evolve. We must either wait on natural selection to solve these problems slowly, or take matters into our own hands and accelerate the process with genetic engineering.

Exactly. Imagine the horrors AI image factories are unleashing on particularly male adolescents this very moment. They say AI is pg, pg-13 at most. But the Altmans of this industry know that they're the sorcerers behind the long sought after magic mirror of ineluctable enchantment: the Freudian abyss is staring back at billions like never before, with trillions in all but assured profits if society survives with its sanity middlingly intact.

Okay, let me spell it out for you. Seeking food, getting aroused by naked women and even raping them, killing competitors, etc. are normal behaviors in nature. But we re-created our environment and our instincts are still there. That’s why you have people consciously recognizing that they should diet or stop watching porn, but they still do it. It’s the same desires, same urges, but it doesn’t give you the same advantage in a different environment. Hence why I referenced the rat experiment.

agriculture -> fixed location + more food -> more people

With more people, you lose tribal bonds and so there arises a need to maintain peace among the whole society to prevent murders and rapes. You can’t just kill someone and run off because you’re dependent on that society and its food. And since there’s more food, there’s a greater risk of obesity. With more women, there’s the risk of adultery. With the refinement of language, there arises lying, etc. etc.

There is no place for man in either nature or the technological future. Both tree worship and transhumanism converge in that which is outside of the confines of human intersubjectivity, which can be felt in a cold, lonely night. Human beings don't even know what is natural anymore because they were never natural in the first place. Kaczynski never analyses the psychological causes and conditions that led to what is instantly unnatural. The only hope for mankind is through the fetishistic, self-annihilating embrace of an apophatic Other, which is fundamentally anti-humanist.

In other words, both the bird and mech are superior to mankind. In fact, I will go a step further and say there is no greater glory, no greater beauty, than in the complete annihilation of mankind. In this sense, I am looking at where the diametrically opposed routes of both nature worship and intelligent robotics meet: apophatic panpsychism that transcends transient and temporary forms of this human shell.

Everything has Buddhanature but humanity, and therefore, anything that destroys humanity is good, whether being overtaken by nature or machines. It is only through a love of the non-human above one's basal human drives like procreation that one can reach such a luminous mind that is no longer tainted by the human.

So basically you're saying before agriculture people weren't human and didn't have any sort of free choice or will. If people have free choice or will they will sin. Only animals "can't sin"

>> No.22759695

>>22759666
> If people have free choice or will they will sin.
This is so retarded. This means that Jesus didn’t have free will, and that we won’t have free will in heaven. Why be sinful humans with “free will” when we could be in paradise with no “free will”? Or like Jesus? Sin isn’t proof of free will, but slavery to our nature. And that nature is designed to operate in a much more primitive environment. I am explaining to you why humans have sin while other animals do not (unless you place them in another environment). Even dogs sin when they do something they’re not supposed to (and they can certainly be conditioned to do otherwise). They also feel guilt and shame. And as I mentioned, the rat experiment proves how degenerate a species can become when it inhabits a fixed environment of abundance.

Your theories of sin are outdated and incoherent. Evolution explains it all.

Wrong. Read Ellul.
>As Genesis shows us, the origin of sin in the world is not knowledge, as is often said (as though God were interdicting our intellectual development, which would be absurd); it is knowledge of good and evil. In this context knowledge means decision. What is not acceptable to God is that we should decide on our own what is good and what is evil. Biblically, the good is in fact the will of God. That is all. What God decides, whatever it may be, is good. If then we decide what the good is, we substitute our will for God's. We construct morality when we say and do what is good, and it is then that we are sinners. To elaborate a moral system is to show oneself to be a sinner before God, not because the conduct is bad, but because, even if it is good, another good is substituted for the will of God.

>> No.22759753

>>22759737
We don’t “decide” what is good. We simply follow our god-given instincts which are more beneficial in a more primitive environment. God could have designed us to have much less temptation and sin.

The theory of evolution gives a much better account for why modern humans are miserable and “sinful”

>> No.22759764

>>22759753
Animals follow their instincts, it's humans that are able to reflect on their actions through free will and make moral decisions. Are you an animal or made in the image of God?

>> No.22759784

>>22759764
As I mentioned here>>22759695, even dogs are capable of making “moral” decisions and they know when they did something “wrong.”

You don’t need free will to have multiple, conflicting desires, and the understanding that one of them is probably the best action to take. But in the end you will always follow your greatest desire. It’s not as if homosexuals simply use their will to be gay, they inherently have a disadvantage because they lust after men in the way that you lust after women. All of this is perfectly explained in a deterministic universe with evolution.

But if you really want to prove free will, then stop sinning completely and be perfect like Jesus. You literally can’t.
