I know most of the time we exaggerate, but to some degree OP's pic is true. I have never seen a woman be interested in, let's say, philosophy unless it's somehow related to feminism. Femaleness is an an ever-present topic and must exist in everything they read. For a modern woman to be drawn to a book, it needs to validate or appeal to their experiences as women, whether it's emotionally, sexually, professionally, etc. Men, on the other hand, are more (much more) diverse in their reading interests.
