But then only read terrible books?
Its like someone who loves math, but only uses it to add up the number of lolis in anime. Why are women like this?

>> No.22435794

>Why do women read more?
they don't. buying books is completely unrelated to reading them. most women buy books for decoration, it's why so much slop is printed these days. at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you write, whoever will buy it probably won't even read it anyway

men have better things to do, so if they read it must have value, either as escapism or as growth
Women dont have anything better to do, and they will read whatever agrees with them

They see different stuff than we do. When they watch the Kardashians they see like ten layers of subtext deeper than we do. The stuff in your pic is full of high level interplay that we're not even aware of.

1. Who made this list? Probably inaccurate
2. Men don't read books period
3. Men do watch podcasts which are the retarded mirror of this shit
4. Not all classics are dead white dudes
5. There are good modern novels and any reading is better than no reading

pic rel you all

Schopenhauer explained this problem almost 200 years ago

as someone who does not read, works a blue collar job and has high testosterone

reading is seen as a feminine sedentary activity
men who read are seen as weak, dweebish, and odd
if men are going to sit on their ass it is going to be to watch sports or play video games
the last thing someone like me wants to do during or at the end of the day is a faggy activity like reading

I know most of the time we exaggerate, but to some degree OP's pic is true. I have never seen a woman be interested in, let's say, philosophy unless it's somehow related to feminism. Femaleness is an an ever-present topic and must exist in everything they read. For a modern woman to be drawn to a book, it needs to validate or appeal to their experiences as women, whether it's emotionally, sexually, professionally, etc. Men, on the other hand, are more (much more) diverse in their reading interests. You will find men reading for pleasure about Norwegian 13th century history when they themselves are not Norwegian. Men will eagerly go through the pages of a book about different types of subtropical fungi, or of a manual on how to build locomotive gears. The fact that they're not biologists or engineers does't matter. Women lack the natural curiosity for the world men have, and will constantly adhere exclusively to popular, superficial and immediate affairs,

Maybe because publishers are run by women, most books and aspiring writers are women, women are bigger consumers so they will buy books and merchandise. So the market focuses on women because that's where the little profit it has is.
