I work in publishing. It’s a pretty open secret (in the NY lit publishing circles) he has early onset dementia. That’s why he sold his archives, but more importantly it’s why Jackson was the one who managed the selling (read the articles about it, they even say that). Less well known is Jackson wrote a fair bit of Bleeding Edge.
