His primordial lesson is that behind every phenomenon, there is a pulsion at work, this pulsion (active or reactive) is induced by a specific will to power (affirmative of depreciatory of life).

And human spirit (and its creations: art, philosophy, science) PARTICULARLY is not excluded from this unconscious interplay of pulsions. You are the puppet of your will to power for nietzsche, thus there is no reason to think of the human spirit as indomitable, precisely because it is nothing but the result of this struggle of pulsions inside of you, reactive and active ones, etc.
