FTM lit is so much fucking better than MTF lit. every interaction between two characters in "Detransition, Baby" is like something from a bdsm scene and the prose is exceedingly childish. "The Discomfort of Evening" has beutiful prose and relentlessly forces the reader to comfront the grotesque aspects of human nature. both are digusting but one is disgusting on purpose and that's all the difference in the world.

>> No.21620239

FTMs in general are saner than MTFs

i'm not reading any of that shit!

FTM = crazy woman who wants to be a man, usually manifests this in a typical womanish way via things like trying to have sick abs with plastic surgery

MTF = crazy man man who wants to be a woman, usually manifests this in a typical mannish way like infiltrating entire movements just to shit on people for no reason lmao

i disagree. they're both equally crazy simply because they cling to an equally untrue delusion. they're driven to this delusion in different ways, though, and one of those ways is more interesting to read about.

>> No.21620329

the tranny is inherently more logical in its actions however as the world is indeed an easy path for a femoid.
the femoid becoming a man, however, is delusion on two separate levels.

that's like saying a man who believes himself to be napoleon is saner than a man who believes himself to be pusued by gangstalkers.

I'm enjoying Discomfort of the Evening but lets not pretend it isn't like every sopping-dark continental european woman novel. Wittkop, Kristoff and a whole bunch of others including Rijneveld constitute a whole genre onto themselves. Steps and the Painted Bird are honorary members of this type of post-war degeneration novel. Cormac McCarthy is their American equivalent, Sarah Kane their British.
The reason why the other book is bad is because it's about being trans, and minority experiences that aren't totally individualized (like Ellison's Invisible Man) are always boring to anyone who hasn't experienced them. Not that I've ever read it

theres no such thing as 'nonbinary'.

Women are naturally good "expressionist realists" when they accidentally become writers, they are capped there though since they have no feeling for anything beyond mundane material existence and petty interpersonal drama. Women do not contain multitudes, they contain a superficially messy but ultimately uniform and one-note chaos. In this homosexual era where people equate good art with abstract expressionism and good literature with "confessional" writing that captures the "stream of consciousness" on the fly, high verbal IQ women falsely appear as good artists and writers. But it's really just their natural tendency to write self-absorbed shit in their boring diary, scaled up a bit.

of course there isn't, but you can only LARP as one or the other. there is no in between.
nonbinary women are basically women who want to LARP as men but keep the privileges of being women

that's because they're trying to buck gender norms but because most people are retarded and not very creative so they go with the easiest method. doesn't mean they're all insincere. there are (rare) classically attractive women who dress like lipstick lesbians and consider themselves nonbinary. ultimately it just means you don't give a fuck about gender norms and will do your own thing whenever you feel like it even if that thing is typically the domain of the opposite sex.

people do that already. chicks have been wearing pants for 60 years and didnt need a special label to do it which makes them immune from all criticism

>> No.21620755

>>21620736
well some people do feel that they need that label and in 2023 when the dumbest chud on earth can become the US president, such labels may be a helpful defense mechanism. you need an easily identifiable group so that lobbyists etc. can aid your cause.

?? If she's getting this because female, why is McCarthy the American? Plenty of general UK in yer face theatre is closer to dark continental European, and if you're open to men taking the spot either of the male leads of it are closer to the general world views of dark female lit. Are you just picking names you know and hoping something sticks?

I agree with this and recommend Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite. Her depictions of the human body and the perversion of her characters reflects what she became. I feel badly for her husband.

The book is actually decent. It starts out pretty stupid but gets better as it goes along. Elevated genre fiction--Brite had some actual literary talent. I get why it attracts autistic goth girls who want to seem edgy but I read it in full knowledge that Brite developed body dysmorphia and a degenerate's mentality. It comes out in her writing and the disgust it produces is earned and not just shocking (as with someone like Clive Barker).

yeah, never watch a youtube video if there's a face in the thumbnail. it's going to be about the person that made it, not whatever's in the title.

Don't expect too much but if you can appricate the resentment and debauchery Brite betrays through her writing you'll find it interesting. Also, the first chapter is the dumbest part of the book so don't judge it right away.

well you see I never said that. There's just a lot of poopy rapey in her plays, plus the madness ingraned with the telling
