Merchant of Venice is piss easy. It is a hidden Tragedy with Shylock as the tragic hero and an obviously fake act 5. The audience is, post-modernly, meant to create a true act 5 in their mind where Shylock truly honestly and from love of christ voluntarily converts to Christianity. His daughter's chastisement of her faithless Christian husband in V:1 is your key to this reading.
