/lit/bros how do we deal the fact that we're so much smarter than everyone else that it makes it hard to have to real connections? I'm reading the great works of the western canon. I'm listening to Monteverdi and reading Pascal and Hegel. I can't have a connection with someone who's favorite book is Harry Potter and really like totally loves Beyonce, watching Euphoria, and can't point France out on a map. 99% of people in the world are the equivalent to that and it makes for a lonely existence. Some of us are lucky to find similar minds but it's a rare thing.

When you have the revelation you are in the top .01% of smartest people on the planet, you can be a doomer about it, or you can use that knowledge to get people to worship you, value your intelligence, and manipulate people into loving you. Otherwise, what's the point of being superior if you can't practically demonstrate you are superior?

No, I think you're misinterpreting my point. I don't particularly care if people "know" I'm smart or not. You are right, that wanting to be recognized for your brilliance is very low IQ. In fact, that would actually be not in my favor, because then if they figured out I was smart, they would put 2 and 2 together that I was manipulating them.
I just mean simply using the knowledge you have to further your own personal gain and pleasure in life. I mean, what's the point of reading the complex rhetoric of people like Hegel if you don't apply that to getting choker-wearing goth girls to fuck you?

Someday you will know the true nature of the human condition and you will notice that the intellect is the father of all of our misery. When knowing that being smart is just the mental masturbation of the bourgeois it will be crystal clear to you that to engage in the spiritual activity of real and deep human interaction it's necessary to be empathic and that comes from the emotional center which needs to work in harmony with the instinctual one.

It's not really about being particularly smarter than anyone. The issue is that apathy and nihilism is so widespread that people who could understand what you're trying to discuss with them have no interest in it. There are many great things I would love to share with others but most will simply never care. I think many have lost their will to live, but keep getting out of bed every day despite that because they cannot override their survival instincts.

Most of those thinkers and artists whose work you're so proud of consooming somehow managed to find a social circle and have connections to other smart people. Almost like if you're actually smart, you figure out where to look for social life and cover your needs, and if you're a pseud you whine about being misunderstood and too refined for this world.
