Yes exactly, it's only denial. His writings are seldom obscure, and most of the time you can readily see his point and what he is trying to say. Hegel is a better example of a misunderstood philosopher, in part because his writing style is viewed as cryptic. Nietzsche in comparison is as clear as spring water

To a large extent I think yes, and people have been misinterpreting him forever. It's weird how people will have strong opinions on him but never read him or really know what he's about. I've seen it before.
