Checked.

There are so many interpretations of scripture and it leads to very different preaching styles. I went to church with my grandparents yesterday and the pastor was talking about befriending sinners and eating with them as Jesus did. That it's not our job to condemn them just as Jesus did not condemn them but loved them.

I agree that it's not my job to judge people and I do pray for people who are lost and prideful in their sin (gays, abortionists etc). But I am not Jesus. Not even close. I don't think I could ever "love" these kind of people nor do I have any desire to interact with them or "eat with them". I do agree that they are lost and entrenched in their sin and I pray for all such types but I just don't want anything to do with them.

I'm not sure who's right here. The pastor and his perspective. Or my own perspective? Is there scripture that enforces my feelings/approach? Isn't there something in the Bible about cutting off rotten fruit or something? There are so many different messages it's hard to know which path to follow.

I wish church was every day. I don’t like being left to my own devices through the week.

you should judge, but to correct, not condemn.
compassionate, not hating.
i don't know what the pastor meant, but if he meant just being accepting of sin, that's wrong. if he meant befriending to change them by your behaviour and such, that's more like it.
if they're truly unrepentant sinners, part ways. if you can change them, keep helping.
Jesus didn't just accept sin, He changed and purified the sinners He met. those who didn't want to follow Him and leave their sins behind left.

Jesus ate with them because he was their Messiah, we are not. In fact the Bible teaches us not to keep these people as company (1 Cor.15:33 + 1 Cor. 5:11).

People usually justify their bad company by saying Christ ate and sat with sinners, but as I said, Christ did so because he was their Messiah, He was there to save them. That doesn't mean we should judge such people, because the Gospel without compassion is dead.

What was the political relationship like between the jews and the romans? It seems that Pilate was reluctant to crucify Jesus yet he did anyways? Weren't the romans the governing body at the time? Why didn't they just say no? Why did they submit to the jewish priest's demands to crucify Jesus? Did the jews just have a lot of political power or something? I haven't read the NT yet but I'm trying to understand this.

jews were a population under rome. they basically had a big mob who wanted Christ, and Christ in their hands.
after talking with Christ, it appears Pilate saw atleast something of who He was, and tried to free Him.
if he said no the jews would likely riot, so he left it for them to choose.
as an added thing, check this out:
you know the inri inscription? 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews' the first(or last? a bit caught up in the grammar) letter of each word for that in Hebrew spells out the divine name God gave Moses in Exodus. that's why they tried to get Pilate to change it.

>If God is all knowing, why did he punish Adam and Eve if he knew (even before creating them) that they would eat from the tree?
>Why did God flood the world and made a man build an arc to get EVERY SINGLE SPECIES in instead of just resetting everything?
>Why were all the patriarchs such fucking cucks that they would let people fuck their wives and daughters to save their own skin instead of just trusting in the protection of God?
>Why does He want the foreskin?
>Why did He literally get His ass beaten by Israel?
I cannot believe that any of this happened at all, it's too absurd. I'm trying to be le metaphoric about it.

I asked this before but the thread got deleted.
Is the star on the flag of Israel the demonic star of Remphan that the Bible mentions? How come mainstream Christians never mention this? If it is true that is very bad but you don't see anyone talk about it outside of 4chan.
Same for the "synagogue of Satan".
