Hey guys, do you know books about work?
From what I've read, I get the impression that work was looked down upon by everyone until very recently, and that it was because of the rise of the bourgeoisie that this view changed.
So, I'm looking for essays or whatever that discuss work, especially by ancient authors. I'm also interested in people who discuss this shift in perception after the industrial revolution.

Letters to Seneca. I forgot which one but an exchange of letters between him and a close friend was about the friend not knowing exactly what to do with his career. Seneca tried to reassure him and said it's good that people work. The ultra rich who get carried by slaves from bath to the couch and brag about not knowing if they are still in bath are fat losers who aren't really living.

It's a discussion about average working man vs rich retard, not slave vs his rich retard owner. The has something vs has so much that he allows himself to stay passive even in mental regards.

Try Thoreau's Walden, 1854. He discusses his opinions on the train and the pace of technology and the conception of work.

Start saving and investing in index funds early. Start looking for better salaried jobs after a couple of years. Engage in small talk with your colleagues and keep it at that, don't trust anyone, especially not women. Never stay alone with a woman in any given occasion either.
