Firstly, I would not call the bible a singular book, but a collection of books. This is especially important as the texts it contains were written and edited over a very long portion of time. Some texts fused with others, and some most likely removed from the canon per the Vatican's decision.
The bible is not my favourite 'book', in fact I actively make a decision to dislike it. When someone tells me how they 'love' reading the bible. Or how the bible 'changed their life', I assume they are mentally weak. That they are incapable of rational, independent thought. That they merely assume the thoughts of others without putting it through any filter or test being agreeing or disagreeing.
As for 'why' I dislike the bible, it is merely a matter or principle. I need not explain it to anyone. Especially to those who follow it around like a dog would follow its owner. If you must press me, I'll tell you this: "tongue my anus".

Wow it's like you're the first person to ever think this - are all your thoughts unique and amazing or just these?

The Bible is a fun work of mythology, like a culmination of the Middle Eastern tradition, but I find it less interesting as a religious text.

Because the Bible is poor derivatives of earlier religious themes that were done way better. It's basically a weird mixture of Phoenician mythology, Egyptian monotheism, Babylonian law and Persian historicism, and finally Greek philosophy, with a few side stories here and there.

So you should just read those instead. Start with the Mesopotamians, Gilgamesh is a good starting point, then read some Babylonian wisdom literature, some mythology from Ugarit and Egypt, some Persian literature and some Greek literature and philosophy. All of this will be a far more enriching experience than the Bible could ever hope to be
