What are some humanist books for someone that has lost his faith in humanity?

>> No.20383520

1. what kind of humanism
2. if you're talking about a sort of universalist human community then you probably need to have faith in the first place
3. if you're talking about misanthropy then getting a girlfriend and seeing friends might fix that.
4. common people are however pretty annoying.
5. profit
6.
7. all of the former are false and serve only as a ladder

Good, you've lost your faith in humanity. That's a sane place to be.

Now look for faith in God - become Orthodox Christian. God became man, perfect man, to redeem fallen humanity out of the state that you see it in, and established an unbroken lineage of Saints up to this day, who despite being fallen humans, God worked miracles through.

I like the aesthetic of this game, but the combat doesn’t speak to me. Would you still recommend it for the story?

You not only have not played the game, you've outted yourself as being a deranged brain dead dopamine addicted retard who's addicted to porn. Congratulations, you would fit in /v/ perfectly.

Yoko Taro's work have been for better or worse more focus on the story/plot rather than the gameplay. I would recommend this game for the story alone. But I'd mentioned that this game takes motiffs and inspirations from plays rather than your conventional movie (like most AAA games). So keep that in mind.
You will end up playing the game three times (or four) times, because you'll be playing through different protagonist's perspectives. It's not long by any means and I think it hits the sweet spot of not over staying it's welcome.

He’s right doe, Automata is completely pretentious, Taro slapped a bunch of things that don’t mesh well together making an incredibly forgettable hack and slash game.

He didn't slap multiple things together to make it seem coherent. He had a theme and went with it. The rest of it that you may think its flashy is him showing homages in his odd way, like that whole mission where you witness a gross misinterpretation of romeo and juliet by the robots or Pascal's story. They all play in the themes of his existentialism story.

Nier:Automata is a stand alone so you can start there. Every other Yoko Taro games needs a lot of tolerance to play though, if you keep going back in works the gameplay goes worse.

It does some pretty neat stuff like using the game mechanics to frame the player's experience in a way that's synchronous with the characters.
Yoko Taro's one of those game director's who's very keen on that kind of thing.

Like in the first Nier game at the beginning enemies don't attack you unless you strike first.
Then they start acting more territorial and aggressive as you progress through the story and have killed a significant number of them.
They also drop items that que you in on what it is you're actually doing.
It's a novel way of storytelling outside of cutscenes via the gameplay experience.

I want all of you gamers to know, there is an objective reality out there, objective truths. The game you're playing is a distraction your enemies made to destroy you. This is entirely your choice.

Miracles aren't a reason to believe in a religion based on the Torah since Deuteronomy 13 said to not believe people that do wonders if they say something against the Torah.

But I guess for gamers Christianity I'd a good starting point.
