I've recently gotten into the artist Edvard Munch. Does anyone know of any good books (biographies, collections of his notes and poetry, etc.) about him? Here is his portrait of Nietzsche, who he was deeply influenced by.

I have a copy of this painting framed on the wall next to me. One of my hopes is to eventually see the painting in person.

On your question: Karl Ove Knausgaard recently wrote a book called "So Much Longing in So Little Space," which is about Munch, though I haven't yet read it so I can't vouch for its quality.

The director Peter Watkins made a three-part docudrama about the life of Edvard Munch. It's a very well-done film.

I don’t know much about him, I’ve only recently gotten into art. I’ll check him out more of his works though.

I don't know much about Munch, but his paintings have inspired a similar feeling to that of looking at Gauguin's. If you had any interest, I would recommend reading The Moon & Sixpence by W. Somerset Maugham which he wrote based on Gauguin's life, but I also don't want to detract from your original request.
