Many self-help books on the list of course, but plenty of novels too.

I feel like my chronic pain is turning me into an alcoholic. I was never really a heavy drinker until last year and mostly just drank beer sometimes, but since last year I've been suffering from a bad case of CPPS (Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome) and now I drink quite frequently and heavily to alleviate pain and depression despite doctors discouraging it. Sometimes it makes it worse especially combined with hangover. But I feel like this is the only way for temporary relief at home.

I suffer from chronic pain due to scoliosis and had the same issues of substance abuse with opiates, I know how hard it is when it feels like its your only source of relief but trust me it only makes things much, much worse. Is there anything you found that can alleviate your pain? Things like sauna, non addictive painkillers( anti-inflammitorys) ect. dont offer me the same relief as opiates but just having a ritual that can help in some way is great for managing pain. Hope you can find help anon I know what its like.

I was just looking at your condition. How often do you coom? Cooming is one way to help relieve or revert CPPS, and that's something doctors probably aren't going to talk with you about.
