Is this actually good or just a meme

>> No.20172226

Bit of both. The bits where they're exploring the house are pretty good, the rest not so much.

>> No.20172227

It's a meme.

>> No.20172233

It's the kind of thing that only you can determine if it's good or a meme.
It's absolutely both, but for me it was just plain very good.
Very much not for everyone, though. I'd say only give it a shot if you are very interested in seeing the weird things it does, rather than reading it just for e-clout because a lot of people recognize it.

This but the opposite

unnecessarily convoluted. I know it's the point, but still, a book shouldn't feel like a chore to read

>> No.20172946

I like it a lot, it's unironically a great book for young-ish teens and high schoolers to get /lit/ pilled.

>>20172226

It also doesn't have much of an ending really from what I remember

>> No.20172968

postmodernism in generally is a meme.

The fact that there is any divide on this book whatsoever really hurts the credibility of this board for me. And maybe its only because i read the whole thing without skipping, but its shameless garbage

Roughly 25% of it is good. Rest is garbage. Anyone here can recommend something actually spooky?

>> No.20173288

>>20172223
It's a metafictional masterpiece. Brainlets will say they liked the spooky house or comment on the typesetting gimmick.

>> No.20173438

>>20172223
really liked the sections in the house, hated the diaries of that loser guy.

>> No.20173448

It's worth picking up and trying. You might hate it, you might love it, you might find it at least kind of fun.

Something people gloss over a lot when its brought up is how tongue in cheek and actually kind of funny it is

>> No.20173479

The best part of the book is the companion album.
