Also, I don't know, exercise, get sunlight, socialize. Get some goypills as a absolute last resort. I'm on goypills right now. It's not fun but they do their job.

Absolute horse manure

>Many symptoms can overlap with other physical or mental health issues.
IE: Other culturally appropriate ways of defining your neuroticism include titles such as ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, TRAUMA, LOW IQ, INSECURE ATTACHMENT, SEROTONIN DEFICIENCY, PLACEBO or just about WHATEVER.

It's all a ruse to make you a loyal, obedient slave, whilst paying for the privelege. You're essentially paying a fucking science priest to absolve you of your sins. Why?

Go back to monke anon and consider what is actually important in life.

Anons are right here, the “disorder” you have developed is due to you’re unconscious rejection to human nature.
The further one strays from human nature, the more disharmonious and unhealthy they become physically and mentally. This is the simple reason for the “mental illness crisis” today.
It is in our unique nature as humans to seek for meaning in life.
Faith can be described as a loving confidence in some cosmic order. When we replace serious spiritual faith and contemplation with pleasures and material collecting, we are pursuing animalistic sensations and ignoring a vital aspect to being human and neurosis and degeneration will form.
Other necessary ways to cultivate human vitality naturally are eating real nutritious food (this has become increasingly difficult), being proud part of a community, unconditionally love, physically exerting your body to a point of soreness, getting sun, and stimulating or exceed using the mind.
The modern reason of why so many people today have no attention span or neurotic behavior is in fact due to the modern outlook of existence.
There are wholistic nature ways to regain confidence and security of the mind.
An easy (even for a short attention span) book to read that you may relate to and find insightful is Leave Society by Tao Lin. He did a lot of research in coming to similar conclusions to what I have and references the books he read to get there. I would recommend something exploring a compelling religion to you afterward as I don’t think his view of the mystical is ideal.

A dopamine fast is setting OP up for failure and is a dumb fad; life style changes like cutting out overly stimulating things can help, but, with consideration for follow through, it has to be slowly and in what may seem like an insignificant way at first. Incremental changes.
>>20114568
An actual diagnoses of ADHD requires symptoms to be present in childhood, scrutiny over other potential causes is given, and, because it's treated with a controlled substance, often requires extensive and well established psychiatric evaluation. If OP thinks he may have ADHD, it can only be helpful for him to get tested and not just assume he doesn't have it because he'd be "falling for the meme."
>>20115535
There's absolutely no reason to believe that pre-modern people were any less miserable or sick than people are now. It's a cope. While faith, community, exercise, and proper eating can definitely help attention span, so can medication and a diagnoses if OP has ADHD.

IQ and ADHD have absolutely no connection, and intellectual disability is even test for during diagnosis.

I have ADHD, it's something you have throughout your entire life, and is just a term to describe a genetic and cognitive trait related to inattentiveness and/ or hyperactivity. For some it's a meme and for others it's an accurate and useful label to better define the challenges personal to a genetic disposition. If you think you have it, get tested. All the anons saying it's fake are coping with their own inability to get shit done and projecting. We get legal and societally accepted speed like true ubermensch when we can't read, while they have to struggle focus all because of their own undoing.

c) when I do work, I do better work than other people, so if they succeed where I fail it's just because I was lazy

this is just your hyperactive mind overthinking things. Funny enough what you're describing is allowing your mind to observe yourself without your ego in the way and it is correct; in some sense you do not have free will. You are always going to fall prey to whatever force is pushing you the strongest. This force could be hunger, pain, lust, desire for power, desire for social acceptance, desire to minimize pain, etc etc. Every decision you make is based on these competing forces and you are not in control, at any given moment, of which force is the strongest. You can work to train your body to react more strongly to forces whose outcomes you enjoy more (eg create habits that make healthy and productive living more attractive subconsciously along with consciously) but at any random moment it's not like you really get to decide what you care about the most.
