As for your question, there's a nice chart you can find about Greeks. Just search 4chan "Start with the Greeks" and you'll get the results you'll need. If you truly find it THAT boring, search internet summaries done by the 100 different autists who'll break it down to you in nice, small and coherent sentences - bullet points even.

You don't have to read them all. Just go through some Aristotle, some Plato, some presocratics, a lot of Homer, and stick around some more if you like. Make sure you read a good batch of critical essays on them as well, so you don't feel completely lost.
