writing would be a hobby
reading is just sedentary consooomerism for pleasure, no different from watching a movie or listening to music

i feel bad for soul-crushed career-worms like you
take a deep breath, get something nice to eat and drink and just relax, if you're near some nature go take a walk
you'll become addicted to this very quickly, and you'll suddenly begin to understand the (honorable) neet mind

If you work, you don't have time to relax. It's just cope time when you don't. All "leisure time" is just a cope because you're tired after work and aren't at peak performance and the weekends are cope time too because you're recovering from the work week. Vacation time is a cope because you're forced to go back. The only good use of time is figuring out a way out so you don't need to work anymore. This usually involves improving yourself to make more money to accomplish this. Some people also take the disability route. If you unironically are doing hobbies or gaming or other shit in your free time off work, you're screwing yourself. There is no such thing as work life balance as one consumes the other. Taking a walk in nature is a cope because you have time restraints. Eating a good meal and especially drinking is a cope and a costly cope at that. You're coping and want to pretend this is alright because you don't want to think about the future and how you'll be doing this until you're 60 or dead. I refuse to play the cope game.

sounds like working all the time because you are literally incapable of enjoying yourself is also a cope. It might be time to find a different profession

I mean some are more mind numbing or require more hours than others. There isnt much of an excuse to not work on hobbies over the weekend at least even if you really are literally to tired to do anything on week days. Are you working 70 hour weeks or some shit? What kind of mundane mind numbing shit are you doing?
